About

KRON is simply short for Akron, The Greatest Little City on Earth. And with a office size of 1-human + 2-dogs kept “Corporation” short to match.

Doug Herberich

Grew up with a very artistic mom who would’ve been a great professional designer or chef in her own right. During her free-time if she wasn’t creating a water color or drawing you could find her painting large graphics throughout our home or more specifically a detailed jungle mural on my bedroom walls. Counter that with my dad who was deep into computers. When my friends were playing the latest Atari or Nintendo systems… we were loading up floppy discs in our Apple II or IIe’s, but this yin-yang upbringing helped balance myself and my three brothers.

Skateboarding was my first passionate love, I remember around 3rd grade creating custom skateboard logos and illustrations, but it wasn’t till my 3rd year in college that I came to realize after I reading about Paula Scher in a History of Graphic Design course that I’d wanted to change my major from Fine Arts to Design.

After graduating in 2001 I cold-called multiple agencies and found a wonderful small 4-person ad agency that was in immediate need of a Art Director… they took a chance on me and I dove in head first. I learned very quickly and we grew the agency at the same pace. From then on I’ve been lucky enough to be parts of multiple Ad Agencies and Design shops of all sizes. During this entire time having a second late night shift of Freelance clients. My freelance continued to grow from 2001 and in 2014 I decided to happily go in 100%. The majority of my work is direct-to-client and working with other freelance friends, ad agencies + design shops.

–––– What’s up with the horse? ––––

Clients have said a variety of nice things about my ideas, design, or personality. But many times I’ve heard “workhorse” and even once “happy workhorse”… with that and the fact both my lovely wife and mom are “horse ladies” + my address is “Bridle” Trail I thought a “design workhorse” icon couldn’t be more perfect.
