It’s just me, Doug Herberich

Quick bio:

Grew up in a house with art and graphic design literary covering the walls. With graphics such as an arrow down the stairs or a giant pineapple to a hand painted jungle bedroom. My mom is an artist who would throw down and create things at the drop-of-a-hat.

My major in college was originally fine arts focusing on oil paints. On a whim, I took a History of Graphic Design course and during that class wrote a paper on Paula Scher and that, or she, changed my entire career direction. One week after graduating I landed the Art Director role at a small agency and off I nervously went.

My day job is with the great folks at Marcus Thomas in Cleveland, OH where I work remotely from Charlotte, NC. When possible I’ll take on a freelance job I can’t resist..

I”m always creating something, be it a design solution/puzzle or thinking of a new concept to help out a client, If i’m facing a monitor or pad of paper I love simply hanging with family, pets and friends..

Outside of art and design I like to Snowboard, skateboard, cook, play basketball … But my main second passion to clear my head is mountain biking. Shout out to my single speed “Ludi”:

During college a professor entered my design/illustration into a Christmas cookie packaging contest to which I received my 1st design award plus a wad of cash which was super exciting as a broke student.
